OK now we’re certainly not saying that Rebb did what he did because he was an Allstate agent. Pee Wee Herman wasn’t an Allstate agent!

But, they fire someone for expressing Christian views on their own time. Views, held by both 2008 candidates, McCain and Obama. So, Allstate may have some trouble with that as those are views they are going to have to live with.

But getting back to this. The guy is still an Allstate agent? I guess that says they tolerate certain things most of us would find intolerable.

Charges were dismissed against a Murrysville insurance agent accused of sexually harassing a 70-year-old female employee at his North Huntingdon office.

Robert Rebb, 53, had been charged by township police with two counts of indecent assault and one count each of indecent exposure, harassment and open lewdness in connection with incidents that allegedly occurred between late January and mid-March.

At a preliminary hearing Wednesday, the case was dismissed under Rule 546 of the Pennsylvania Rules of Court. Under the rule, the dismissal could come as a result of an agreement or settlement between the defendent and the victim, which is what occurred in this case.

Rebb, who’s been an Allstate agent for 20 years, said he was pleased the charges were dismissed.

“I’m relieved,” he said. “That’s about all my attorney would allow me to say.”

  1. Allstate needs to go away. Liddy was a tyrant there and now he’s head of this AIG bonus scandal. But this was a funny article.
